Topic: Indian Passport Renewal (VFS and BLS)

I am in the process of renewal and I talked to a CKGS agent. He told me that there is no need to send additional pictures. The ones pasted on the forms are good enough.

Topic: Job Title Change

After H1B extension this year, My job title was changed to Software development Manager from Client Implementations Manager. This title change was simply a title change re-consolidation effort by my company. No roles and responsibilities of any of the employees has changed.Do I put my new title in DS 160? or should I put the one used during H1b extension? Also, which title should I tell the visa officer if asked?

Topic: November 2015 Visa bulletin Prediction

None of the dates matter anymore, as USCIS can change it any time they like. They might crank it up by returning filed applications and say that it was a courtesy to let you file :)

Topic: Transit Visa - via Frankfurt (H1 B expired)

My friend traveled to India just last week via Frankfurt with expired visa and no transit visa and had absolutely no issues. Even I have booked my tickets with Lufthansa with the same route. Lufthansa told me that I don't need a valid visa if you are travelling back to your home country.

No need for a transit visa if you are travelling via Frankfurt. You will be fine if you are flying with lufthansa. Other airlines like AA or BA mandate transit visas.

Topic: Visa Stamping Appointment

How early can we get a visa appointment in the Mumbai consulate? I am travelling to India in November, can I take a appointment for November as early as today? I know that sometime back the window opened only a 15 days or a month prior. However, people have been telling me that things have changed since then and you could take an appointment right away.

Topic: Stamping question

Apologies if this question has been asked before. If EAD,AP,485 have already been applied, is it ok to travel to your home country. I have a valid H1B(9th year) & I140 approved. however I need to get the visa stamped. I have heard that it is not safe to travel until you get your EAD + AP. Please advise.

Topic: I-140 Receipt number

If your employer is not willing to give you your approved copy of I140 then you can do a FOIA(Freedom of Information Act). Request.Generally most employers do not revoke the I140 but some may still do it. So be aware.

Topic: Title Change/Promotion

If PERM has been approved and awaiting for a promotion(Lead to Manager), should I wait for the promotion(could happen in a week) and then file I140 or should I take care of it during the I485 process? Job duties remain the same with additional responsibilities.
