Topic: H-1B: BART reluctantly allows group to paper stations, trains

I know some of us are worried but this is how i see it, we all need to agree that there need to be changes to H1b visa program which allows indian IT body shops to bring thousands of applicants every year, so the skilled immigrant visa is turned into a business model. the entirety of this visa is at risk and let’s make sure we support and be part of some common sense h1b reform.

Here is a nice article that supports H1B's and their contribution to US economy, I understand that big witches are misusing the visa process to bring cheap labor but there are so many american companies and local business are benefited by H1B.

We need to have more media coverage, we should emphasize on legal immigrants who have to wait 60 to 70 years.

Topic: Immigration Reform is coming soon

That makes sense, we should have implemented the 2013 immigration reform, it looks like the congress and house is not is moving anywhere and now the issues have grown and differences between democrats and republicans increased. No one is willing to compromise to be politically correct.

I often think if there will be any immigration reform that is going to happen, here is the thing if start with this ok lets fix DACA.. Ok we need border wall and then we need funding..what about border security? Do we give citizenship to DACA then what happens to their parents? lets cut legal immigrants.. aren't we the country of immigrants? What about skilled immigrants and their GC.. well we need skilled immigration system?...... This whole thing is exploding it is becoming impossible to solve for law makers because we keep ignoring these problems time to time. Now democrats are playing waiting game for elections.

On top of this Democrats are playing a political game, when they had shutdown the government for DACA and white house decided to provided the DACA solution now everything else becomes priority.

Topic: Immigration Reform is coming soon

I agree with bitcoin baby, we all want Hr 392 even I do to and there was reason why 7% country cap was put in the first place so that no country can take all the gc's but they did not expect that some of us has to wait 60 years to get.

It would have been lot smarter if bill would have tried to increase country quota from 7 to 15/25. It should also try to remove spouse and children from EB2 quota, or even a better solution merit based.

But what I don't understand is if congress can provide amnesty to DACA kids and can get citizenship in 10 to 12 years then obviously I don't understand why there is no amnesty for GC backlogs and why we need to 60 to 70 years and whats the point of having country limits.

As senator Rand Paul saidthat some his colleagues don't even know that there is backlog for Indians and we need to wait to 60 to 70 years.

Topic: Goodlatte's Securing America's Future Act

Senate has completely failed all four bills that were brought to the floor didn't get all the votes and White house clearly stated that it will reject any bill without wall funding, and Paul Ryan has already said that he will not bring a bill to the floor if does not have white house support.

Goodlatte's bill is the only option.

Topic: EAD for i140

I agree its very hard for admin to understand our concerns if we don't spread the awareness.

Look at what Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said in his speech in senate vote today he urged all DACA supporters to email, call or phone their senators as we see here lot of politicians are compassionate about DACA but none of them are fighting as much as Chuck, Nancy and Kamala Harris.

It is important to email or call or phone and try to meet your senator and explain your situation, he or she might fight for us or at least they will support us other wise we will always be backlogged.

Topic: Merit based immigration

if this is a trustworthy news, first it's a huge disappointment for people waiting in the queue. Second, it does talk about the country of origin here is the snippet from link "Aliens who are nationals of a country that has sent less than 50,000 lawful permanent residents to the United States during the past 5 years shall receive 5 points. Under the proposed bill the Diversity Visa category would be eliminated. However, aliens from countries meeting the criteria of what are now known as Diversity Visa countries would receive points based on being a national of those countries under the proposed bill"

So basically if you are from India we might loose 5 points and there are no country limits and but the number of points is what matters and question is how much does 5 points matter that is has to be seen.

Topic: Immigration Reform is coming soon

https://www.politico.com/amp/story/2018/01/17/da...

Based on politico there are some discussions between senate, house leaders and kelly to have 12 year path citizenship to DACA members.....wtf while we are waiting in queu for decades and we have a bill that was introduced several times in the past with more than 300 cosponsors seem to go no where.

None of the border wall construction budget considers anything what IV was proposing abt 1000 for gc holder...

let’s just focus on realty here the only person fighting for us is Kevin yoder and he is not part of any immigration reform discussion or deal.

Topic: H.R. 392, Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act

I think you are trying to get ahead of your self here, I never criticized or cried that IV is not doing anything. They helped us reach 300 co sponsors on this bill and that did not happened overnight, we should at least understand why HR 392 was not included in the comprehensive immigration reform.

I did reach out to my local representative and don't just come here randomly respond to messages without understanding the context.
