Topic: STEP BY STEP - How to Immigrate to Canada

Sounds like a good plan. Never thought about it this way. Thanks Gaurav. Is it ok if I contact you with any further questions? Appreciate your help again.

Topic: STEP BY STEP - How to Immigrate to Canada

Thanks for the explanation. As per your article,

"I recommend keeping Canada as Plan B and applying for immigration as soon as possible. The whole process takes 6-8 months and once you are approved, you have an additional two (2) years before you MUST move to Canada. This will give you some peace of mind if your GC chances are less than 100% and going back to your home country is not a palatable option. "

When you say you have an additional 2 years before you must move to Canada, how would that play out? I mean lets say I am waiting for my GC in US and apply for the PR and get it approved do I have 2 years? Sorry if the question is confusing. Thanks.

My understanding was you can decide whether to come to Canada in 6 months once you get the approval. Can you explain the two years part? Thanks.

@freeweb. I guess you have got an approval for your H1 after the RFE. Did your spouse also got the H4 approval at the same time? Thanks.
