Thanks GCin2017,
This is a great idea. After getting used to being part of a community during my wait time for my I-140 to get approved, I was looking for a similar thread for EB1C folks in Nebraska.
My I-140 got approved on 08/17, but celebrations did not last long as the news about the upcoming interviews and the expected delays, as a result, are not encouraging. I hope that in a couple of weeks we'll know more.

Not sure now, if every case has to undergo interview. I believe they will hand pick the cases, instead of interviewing everyone.. This includes all categories of GC not just EB1C... So if they start interviewing everyone, then its going to big backlog for them.. 10 more days and we will get clarity on the subject.

There was a couple of UK cases, who took 7 weeks to get approved, mainly due to medical RFEs (I140 took more than a year to get approved and hence the medical RFE)... So without interview 6-7 weeks processing time we can expect

hi Everyone,

i have been watching the i140 forum for a long time passively but never participated. i think starting something similar for i140 is a great idea. here are my details:

i-140 filed = july 29, 16 (approved = Sep 06,17)
i-485 filed = july 29, 16 (status = fingerprint fee was updated since aug 11, 16)

Waiting for my i485 to be processed soon after Oct 01, 17 when the retrogression is lifted, i got my medical done pro-actively.

How much time after Oct 01st do you guys anticipate? I am guessing if it was taking 7-8weeks pre interview process implementation it would take longer than that once they implement the interview process even if many of wont get the interviews.

Hoping to get medical RFE soon after Oct 01st.

Lets us say my PD is Jan 2016 and my I140 was approved in Jan 2017(one year later). Now I apply for I485 in Oct 2017(as it is current). When will my I485 start processing ? Is there a dependency ? Will it be picked up for processing based on priority date or another date. Or does it get bumped up only when retrogression happens again and if it is current at that time for the priority date ?

TO zaks2000 (1):

Looks like, its for interview. Please update us once you get more details, this is also a point that they want to have interview just for primary applicant or all applicant.

Looks like you are going to go through "EXTREME VETTING" (Interview). Dont worry :)

Is your 140 approved? and if so when? Did u receive any RFE etc?

to zing122:

You may not get the medical RFE, because even during retrogression , they continue to process the application and get it ready for approval. Otherwise they won't wait for Oct 1.

I would say this can be case with all of us as USCIS mandate (looks like) interview for all 485 cases.

Field Office Processing Dates for NSC: July 31, 2017 says I-485 Employment-based adjustment applications as December 2, 2016 . How does USCIS process I-485 cases which were file concurrently in first half of 2016.

Hey guys.

My I-140 got approved Jul 28, 2017 (PD Apr 5, 2016) - it was a long wait. I had also filed my I-485 concurrently.

I immediately asked my lawyer to file an SR on the I-485 and just heard back saying an officer is reviewing my case and will respond within the next 60 days.

It's been a helluva ride! Not sure if I will need to be interviewed - all we can do is wait.

To mysticman:

Interesting, how did your case get processed so fast? Generally it's taking 12-14months for the I-140 to get processed. the only explanation i can think of for your i-1485 pending is that your i-485 came up for processing just when the retrogression hit and now it will get picked up on or after oct 1

I am not sure either. I guess they might have considered my earlier PD ( 2/2011) from EB3 I140. I am still waiting for I-485 updates. I have raised several SRs & inquiry. No concrete answers so far. I hope i will see some movement in Oct.

I would like to understand why did you get RFE on your I485 case as there can't be medical RFE for 6 months old case. Did you responded to the RFE properly?

to GCin2017:

If they start interviewing everyone, then its going to be a much more delay than just 6-8 weeks, as they have to cover all EB1, EB2, EB3 etc.. from all countries, may create a havoc at office... Let's see how they deal with it... My best guess, they will randomly pick up few cases to begin with and based on the output will increase/decrease/concentrate on certain profiles...

Hey Zing122,

Did your Medical officer charged you again or did you had to take up all the tests agains? Can the doctors do medical without any mail or template? Will USCIS raise further question if medicals are done prior to their notice period?

What's your I140 status and what's your Priority Date? Can you create your I140 profile as well, it will be helpful to understand your case and predict something.

If you have I140 approved, and you filed non-concurrently I485 in April 2017, Did you finished your fingerprinting and bio metric? If yes, then it could be an interview schedule as all are predicting.

Please share more details.

to lastinline:

My understanding is that I485 can be applied based on the Final Action Date as published in monthly visa bulletin. When I485 is applied, a Receipt Date is obtained, and that becomes your date for I485. As per the processing time, they are processing all employment based cases which were filed before December 2, 2016 as of 31st July 2017 at NSC, approx. 7 months wait period. However some of the EB2/EB3 associates, whose priority date has become 'current', mentioned that they will receive it in 6-8 weeks, which is not consistent with the Processing Time. So file it soon and let's see how long it takes.

to maniskum:

I believe all the concurrent cases or I485 cases filed before December 2016, will get queued up for October.

Also looking at volumes, NSC touches around 80-100 I140 cases per day (based on USCIS status updates), but touches around 500+ cases every day. Both data are based on USCIS update on their website as well as across all categories. So 485 processing should be faster.
